Inventive Hungarian Hat Workshop- Part 6

For those of you who know me well...


                                  ...you'll agree that it's unusual (to say the least)...



                                                  ...for me to 'work blue'.  ;)



                                          After the last layers of wool are added...



                                      ...they're wrapped closely around the resist...

                                                     ...and felting begins.



                                                              Care is taken...



                                       ...not to dislodge the felted embellishments.



                                                      When it's safe to do so...



                                                           ...rolling begins...



                                  ...and the felt starts to shrink and become thicker.



                                          Next time: both resists are removed...

                                                    ...and felting continues.

Sometimes it's fun to do something unexpected. And even if the main colour is unexpected, the general sense of colour and fun is not!

Rachel- On our trip, I borrowed a teal shawl and people loved the color on me (I never wear this color), so I thought, 'why not'?!? :)
